The series of large monochrome prints and the colour work were the result of a residency in Durban and chart the attempt to ‘make sense’ of life in a country as complicated as South Africa.
While a common language fostered an initial sense of familiarity, I was soon to find out that – much like Dorothy – I was ‘not in Kansas anymore’…
